Time and Space - Art and Artist Run Spaces 1970 to Now 3 July - 15 August 2010 With an apparent resurgence in artist-run activity generating new studios, exhibition spaces and collective involvements right around the country, Time and Space presents a snapshot of art and artists, telling stories about artist-run initiatives in Sydney since 1970.

Hardbodies - Garden Billboard Project 3 July - 10 October 2010 The billboard is an all-pervasive and complex structure that displaces human desire into the theatrical 'screen' of consumption, and erects a type of one-way communication that trades on the irreducible logic of images, simulation and fetishism. It is a deeply ambivalent site where dream and nightmare, seduction and repulsion, myth and reality, pleasure and its atrophy, merge into one. It is also a type of palimpsest where these same conflicting realities are inscribed and re-inscribed with the passage of time. The exhibiting artists assembled in Hardbodies – Gary Carsley, Alex Gawronski, Angelica Mesiti, Peter Volich – explore this complex reality through a critical and playful engagement with the mechanics of the billboards representational logic.
